The children of the Tindouf camps

Published on 2 October 2026 · International

Algeria, Tindouf, 3 June 2016. In the Sahrawi refugee camps near Tindouf, generations of children have been born and grown up far from their land of origin. Their daily life revolves around school, sports activities and family life within the camps. Through educational and sports programmes, the children continue their schooling, practise various disciplines and share the ordinary moments of childhood. Between classrooms, sports grounds and the streets of the camps, these young generations build their daily lives in an environment marked by a long history of exile.
